Many people celebrate special occasions by choosing to ask for donations to Adoption Matters instead of gifts, flowers and cards.
If you would like to do this then we can offer you donation envelopes so that you can send them to guests or leave them on tables. Gift Aid can be chosen – there is more information on this below. Alternatively, you can share our online donation link with them.
Did you know you can set up a Birthday Fundraiser on Facebook to support your favourite charity? We would love it if you’d pick us – what better way to make a difference on such an important day of the year!
Gift Aid is a scheme run by the UK Government whereby if you are a UK taxpayer and you donate money to us, we can claim tax you have already paid on the amount of the donation. This means we get up to an extra 25p for every £1 you donate to us – and it costs you nothing! All you need to do is fill in a simple Gift Aid declaration form which is available to download below.
There are rules that must be followed. For instance, we can only claim on your donations if you are a UK taxpayer and if you are donating in your own right. You must also have paid enough income tax or capital gains tax in the past year to cover the amount we claim. We cannot claim Gift Aid on donations you have made and received something in return i.e. tickets for an event. We also cannot claim Gift Aid on donations left in a Will. Are you a fan of selling items online via eBay or Vinted? Well, did you know that you can now nominate Adoption Matters as your chosen charity to receive a percentage of any sales that you make?
Being a seller on either of those two platforms is a super way to declutter your house and sell clothes that are no longer worn and the platforms have now upped the feel good factor of doing this by making it possible to support your favourite charity in the process.
How does it work?
To enable this, all that you have to do is locate your user settings and from there it will guide you to the payment section whereby you can nominate Adoption Matters as your chosen charity. You can decide yourself on the percentage that you wish to donate and at this point we would love to emphasise that any donation, no matter how big or small, is very gratefully received and it can go a long way for our children’s charity.
Any donations are used to continue providing more support to our adoptive families, adopted adults and birth families.

How does it work?
easyfundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for your favourite cause. How? Just start your online shopping first at easyfundraising, then shop as normal. The retailers will then make a small donation to say “thank you”.

If your requirements for a Will sit outside the realms of a Free Basic Will, Laura can provide details of her other offerings, and tailor a Will to suit your circumstances. Laura will provide a fee quote for anything other than a Free Basic Will.

Over 50% of UK adults do not write a Will. This means that their assets will be distributed by a law which was made many years ago, and is not always right for many people, especially those who are not married but live together, people who have second families and people who want to give some money to charity. Writing a Will allows an individual to set out their wishes on who they would want to benefit from their estate.
It is sensible to review your Will periodically, to make sure it still reflects your wishes. Births and deaths, and changing assets, can all be reasons to consider whether your Will currently reflects your wishes. Marriage and divorce revoke previous Wills written, so ensure your Will is both up to date and valid.
